My last 4 days in Singapore with the Maker family. Mum and Dad are chillers by nature, they were gobsmacked by the Lion City and the amount of movement (people and money) going on here. Above is a shot from the Sky Car to Sentosa Island. Dubbed "Resorts World" its a multi billion dollar investment by the Singapore goverment to make a small city of luxury hotels and theme parks. Pretty crazy. Not for me.
Another shot about 1 minute after the above. Looks like this place is getting some sort of moat and a palm tree garden. There are areas the size of entire suburbs that look like this.
Welcome to Resorts World. In the foreground - Universal Studios. Middle - Singapore mainland and the silhouette of the port. Background - Hundreds of cargo ships waiting in line to drop off their cargo.

I saw this and quoted The Mighty Boosh for the rest of the day.
The Port of Singapore... was the busiest port in the world until 2005 when Shanghai took the title from them. I haven't been to Shanghai so I thought this was pretty damn impressive (in a "look how powerful this place is" kinda way).
My final shot from Singapore. Think it sums up the place nicely. As the self-proclaimed business centre of Asia, the amount of trade flowing through is astonishing. The CBD's sky scrapers have been kindly paid for by Banks and Multinational Corporations.
