I designed this a2 sized poster more than 2 months ago, printed it a few times and put it in a cupboard where it was gradually forgotten. Last night I took some detail shots and cringed at my own narcissism.

The design was inspired by these 1950s 'People' Australia magazines found on a trip down the NSW South Coast in July with Sally. Some scanning, illustrating and photoshop-ing helped put my great big dirty brand all over the vintage ads. I sought that old 'daily classified ads' look as I branded myself into every nook and cranny. The result? Pretty overwhelming I must say, but rewarding nonetheless.

Soon enough I'll use this poster to seek out an internship/work experience whilst I'm in Singapore. In advertising I believe this is called the 'hard-sell' technique.

Had a lot of fun mimicking 1950s display typefaces; adding grainy text effects and plenty of 'levels'. I figured I should mention the surfing thing again. (So what? The whole concept is lost on most Singaporeans and it makes me feel exotic here.)

Side A in its entirety. Side B?
